Title: Developing Effective Cyber Security Metrics

Reporting to the board and other executive groups has become a standard duty of all CISO’s and Cyber leaders.  These presentations and reports are critical as they build trust and confidence that cyber risks are being addressed in line with the tolerance level of the organization and also create personal credibility. However, these opportunities are brief and so they must be maximized both to convey the key messages in a concise way but also to keep the board informed on areas of concern (and further investment).  As with any other skill the only way to improve is to practice and know your audience.  This hands on workshop will first start with a summary of the key objectives of board meetings followed by scenarios from different fictitious organizations.  Finally as a group there will be a role playing exercise to present to a board to try to address their concerns. Participants will have an opportunity to be board members and the presenter CISO followed by an open feedback session.

This session is ideal for those new to presenting or even seasoned CISOs who are looking for tips on how to improve their presentation and communication style to make better impact at their next board meeting.
